(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - 'Developing capabilities of the Islamic Ummah in different fields of technology, science and economy will raise the status of the Muslim world in international relations,' Boroujerdi said in a meeting with Sudanese Minister of Youth and Sports Hag Majid Swar in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Wednesday.
He pointed to "stable and amicable" ties between Iran and Sudan as two Muslim countries and added that the expansion of relations with Muslim countries is among priorities of Iran's foreign policy.
"The Iranian government and nation have always placed emphasis on enhanced ties with Sudan and the promotion of peace in that country," Boroujerdi pointed out.
The senior Iranian lawmaker noted that the political will of the two countries' officials is based on the expansion of ties between Tehran and Khartoum and expressed the parliament's readiness to adopt necessary measures in this regard.
The Sudanese minister, for his part, said exchange of visits between political and parliamentary officials of the two countries would promote bilateral ties.
Swar added that Iran and Sudan enjoy a common stance on many regional and international issues and emphasized that Khartoum puts no obstacle in the way of strengthening amicable ties with Tehran in all areas.
